Thank you for attending my slice of a lesson plan. Feel free to leave constructive comments and thoughts below, I really look forward to hearing from you!

Task 1.3: Reflection

  • What did you like or dislike about online teaching? Response: I thoroughly enjoyed the creative freedom that a teacher has when designing lessons in an online space. Using Google Slides as my main platform made for a versatile and interactive space for my lesson to be presented. I disliked interchanging between the different platforms, but I do understand that these frustrations would alleviate after working with them for a while and become more familiar.

  • What new skills did you learn through this experience? Response: I learned that a lot of apps are available to teachers, students, and even parents to academically support their child through distance learning. I think I definitely refined my existing online competency whilst using these apps, and it was really fun learning how to integrate and link these different applications together.

  • What would you do differently? Response: I think additional practice using the apps would be beneficial just to ensure that the teacher is familiar with their interface and abilities.

  • Did you choose appropriate tools to teach online, explain why? Response: I believe so, I ensured I used applications that were free so they were accessible to all students and parents. I ensured the applications I used could also be downloaded as a PDF version to make it available to students that may have missed the lesson.

  • How has this experience developed you for teaching in a school? Response: It has certainly emphasised the necessity of technology in the education field. I will be sure to make use of these apps in my own classroom, as well as explore how else ICT can be integrated in both online learning spaces, and in the classroom itself.

Thanks for the fun lesson 🤩

your virtual classroom slides were definitely an attention grabber, fantastic you making use of free online tools such as Google classroom. You encourage learner participation through The use of gr 3 appropriate scenarios on emotions. Your YouTube was age appropriate, however it highlighted the aspects of physical actions over emotions- which you acknowledged and shared your frustration in finding content and age appropriate YouTube videos. None the less a fantastic lesson. thanks Tasneem
